My name is Claudia, and my passion for baking is inspired by the beautiful places and experiences that have shaped my life. One of the most meaningful places for me is Macau, where I grew up after moving there with my family at the age of seven. It became my hometown and left a deep and lasting impression on me.
Macau is truly special — a small yet vibrant city on the southern coast of China that was once a Portuguese colony for more than 400 years. This unique history created a fascinating blend of East and West. European and Chinese cultures come together in every corner — from cobblestone streets and pastel-colored buildings to a rich mix of food traditions. Walking through Macau, you’ll find temples beside churches and Chinese bakeries next to Portuguese cafés. It’s a place where harmony and flavor meet — a spirit that continues to inspire me every day.
After many years working in other fields, I discovered my true passion: baking. Today, I run Claudia Pastry, a home bakery where every treat is handcrafted with care. My menu features macarons (made with natural ingredients and no artificial dyes), nougat with dried fruits and nuts, cookies, and chocolate-dipped orange slices — all gluten-free and made in small batches with high-quality ingredients and traditional methods.
You can find me sharing my creations at local farmers markets, including the Fuquay-Varina Growers Market and the Raleigh Triangle Weekend Market. Each product reflects my journey — from growing up in Macau and falling in love with its flavors to building a life and bakery here in North Carolina.
Looking ahead, I’m planning to upgrade my kitchen so I can expand my menu and introduce new specialty desserts such as Portuguese egg tarts, caramel crème brûlée cheesecake, and blueberry and strawberry panna cotta — each crafted to bring joy and sweet, memorable moments.

A baker with roots in Macau and a passion for blending Eastern and Western flavors. For over 30 years, I’ve traveled around the world, experiencing different cuisines and flavors, and I’ve learned that the most memorable tastes come from real, natural ingredients. This belief guides every recipe I create: I never rely on artificial additives because genuine flavor starts with wholesome produce.
Growing up in Macau, where Chinese and Portuguese cultures mingle, taught me to appreciate harmony and balance in food After years in other fields, I returned to my first love—baking—and founded Claudia Pastry, a small‑batch home bakery where every treat is carefully handcrafted My menu reflects the flavors I discovered during decades of travel and the seasonal ingredients available in North Carolina.
